As part of this year’s Image India film festival in Barcelona, Spain, the online short film organization Yxine Film Festival (YxineFF) on Wednesday introduced the Vietnamese film industry to international observers with seven film shorts.

The films were ‘Ca Chuoi’ (Cuttlefish), ‘The Man Who Was There’, ‘Mother’s Milk’, ‘Sunday Menu’, ‘The Fading Light’, ‘Phia Sau Cai Chet’ (Behind the death) and ‘Thang Cho Chet’ (Rascal Guy).

“Our aim is to introduce the fledgling Vietnamese movie industry to international friends. Based on the cooperation of foreign film festivals, we expect to bring new experiences of Vietnam to others via our creative filmmakers,” said Marcus Manh Cuong Vu, founder and chairman of YxineFF’s movie selection council.

Besides running www.yxineff.com, the organization has also brought movies to Paris, Los Angeles, Phnom Penh, Hanoi, Danang and HCMC.

First launched in May 2010 as a non-profit voluntary project, YxineFF has received support from organizations, enterprises and individuals.

It is also supported by the Danish Cultural Development and Exchange Fund, the Goethe Vietnam Institute, the British Council Vietnam and the U.S. Consulate General in HCMC.
