Pop star My Tam has won the Artist of the Year prize, given out by the Lan Song Xanh or Blue Wave Music Awards 2012.

This is the third consecutive year that My Tam has won the prize.

She has been also named among the top ten audience-selected favourite singers for 11 consecutive years.

Other singers in this year’s list include Ho Ngoc Ha, Van Mai Huong, Dam Vinh Hung, Noo Phuoc Thinh, Uyen Linh, Hien Thuc, Tuan Hung, Cao Thai Son and Thu Minh.

The top ten audience-selected musicians were Nguyen Van Chung, Nguyen Duc Cuong, Nguyen Hoang Duy, Duong Khac Linh, Hoang Nha, Nguyen Hai Phong, Bao Thach, Nguyen Hong Thuan, Khac Viet and Tien Cookie.

The group Vmusic won the most audience-selected favourite prize while Ho Trung Dung and Vi Oanh were presented with Potential Singer Prize.

My Tam was so busy that she could not attend the awards ceremony last night, December 20.

My Tam had a big year, with several achievements, including the issuance of one DVD and four singles.

Apart from the Artist of the Year Award, My Tam has won the Best Asian Artist title in the Mnet Asian Music Awards 2012 and the Best Female Artist prize in MTV Vietnam Awards.

The Lan Song Xanh Awards, organised each year since 1997, honours singers, bands, musicians and music producers.

Most winners are chosen by the radio station Voice of HCM City listeners while artists of the year and promising singers are nominated by experts and journalists.
