SEA Games 2013: Wushu artists surpass target

Vietnamese Wushu artists won one more gold medal in Myanmar on December 10, bringing the total number of their gold medals at the ongoing 27th SEA Games to 5, surpassing the set target.
Beyond expectations, Pham Quoc Khanh, SEA Games 25 gold medallist, outplayed a Myanmar athlete in the final Gunshu game, winning the trophy.  

At the 26th SEA Games in Indonesia in 2011, Vietnamese Wushu artists earned a total of 4 gold medals.

Also in the morning, Nguyen Thi Mai, Nguyen Thi Duyen, Nguyen Thi Le, and Kieu Thi Hao, bagged a silver medal in the women’s K4 1000m canoeing.

On December 10, Vietnam has high hopes on wrestling when Khong Van Khoa, Pham THi Hue and Pham Thi Loan are scheduled to compete in the 74-55-59kg weight categories.

Vietnam will take on Singapore in the men’s football this evening. Vietnam beat Brunei 7-0 while Singapore were held to a 1-1 draw with Laos in their first group matches.
