Model/actress Ngo Thanh Van completely swept the judges off their feet with her perfect techniques, confident stage personality and enthusiasm for the show, all of which were on full-display during her three outstanding performances.

Last night, at Phan Dinh Phung Hall in Ho Chi Minh City, the season finale attracted a large audience. The show was meant to start at 8 pm, but many people showed up as early as 6 pm, despite the pouring rain, to watch the final round of Dancing With the Stars, its first season in Vietnam.

Many well-known faces of the Vietnamese showbiz world, from singers, actors, directors to photographers and producers, were present at the hall on Sunday night to support their colleagues, Ngo Thanh Van and singer Doan Trang, the two finalists, who were to perform 3 different styles of dance: standard, latin and freestyle for the golden trophy of the night.

At the end of their performances, Ngo Thanh Van earned from the judges a total score of 112 while Doan Trang got 109, a close finish. Thanh Van received 53.93% out of over 50 thousand messages sent by voters. Leading in both scores, Ngo Thanh Van was crowned the winner, and Doan Trang finsished in second in place.

Still overwhelmed with the shock of being the winner, Ngo Thanh Van shared, “It’s a really wonderful feeling. I worked really hard to bring out these amazing performances for the audience. Both Trang and me spent one whole week to train and find creative ideas for our show tonight. It was the hearty cheer and support from the audience that motivated and enabled me to win tonight. Thank you all!”
