The American pop star Kelly Clarkson will perform during the final night of Miss Vietnam 2014 on December 6 on Phu Quoc Island.

With the agreement from other co-organisers of Miss Vietnam, Vinpearl JSC decided to invite the two-time Grammy winner, Kelly Clarkson to perform at the event. Along with the participation of well-known Vietnamese singers, the final night is expected to be a highlight of Miss Vietnam 2014.

Phu Quoc Island is already an attractive destination, and the organisers hope that the pageant will put the island on the 'beauty pageant map'.

Phu Quoc, nicknamed as Paradise Pearl Island, is said to have the potential to rival popular regional destinations such as Bali or Phuket. When the five-star Vinpearl Resort is opened in November this year, Phu Quoc will meet most of the requirements to become a world-class tourist destination.

Many expect that Miss Vietnam 2014, held from November 26 to December 6, will give a boost to the island's burgeoning tourism industry.
