Traditional materials highlighted at Vietnam Fashion Week Spring - Summer 2018

Vietnamese traditional materials including Nam Cao tussore, Nhat Minh, Nha Xa and Ha Bao silk, and An Phuoc flax will be featured at the latest collections by 19 designers at the Vietnam Fashion Week Spring - Summer 2018.


According to designer Minh Hanh, the four-day event, which will take place from September 29 to October 2 at the Vietnam Television headquarters in Hanoi, will introduce collections by Vietnamese and Italian designers including Ngoc Han, Phuong Thanh, Minh Hanh, Cao Minh Tien, Chula, and Tea Gelashvili.

"All the designs displayed this time are made from traditional and natural materials, Hanh said, adding that this is a global trend as people are turning to environmentally-friendly and adaptable products.

A design in the Ready to wear collection by Cao Minh Tien who was inspired by the Vietnamese traditional long dress.



Chula's designs highlight freedom on linen materials and patterns featuring life in the ocean.


Minh Hanh introduces designs using Nhat Minh silk and Thien An and An Phuoc flax.



Duy Nguyen who is known for elegant suits uses Nam Cao tussore for his Spring-Summer collection which is inspired by the 1930s.
