Music Festival to bring EU closer to Vietnam
The European Music Festival 2017 aims to honour the richness and diversity of European culture, contributing to improving the understanding and reciprocal knowledge, thus reinforcing the relations, between Europe and Vietnam.
Ambassador Bruno Angelet, who is Head of the Delegation of the European Union to Vietnam, made the remark at a press conference on the festival, in Hanoi, on November 9.
Co-organised by the Delegation of the European Union to Vietnam, the Embassies of EU Member States and the European Cultural Institutes, the annual festival will take place at the Youth Theater in Hanoi and the Conservatory of Music in Ho Chi Minh City, from November 17 to December 2.
This year’s festival will offer Vietnamese audiences the opportunity to enjoy entertaining concerts performed by virtuoso artists from Austria, Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Hungary, Poland and Sweden.
“With a total of 17 concerts in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, the festival will invite artists and audiences of all ages to enjoy special musical performances”, Ambassador Bruno Angelet said.
The audience will be taken on a journey through the melodious and delicate tunes of classical music, improvisational and engaging jazz, the unique and soulful rhythms of R&B, and captivating blues melodies with great songs and special voices, he added.
Accordingly, the music event will open on November 17 in Hanoi with the performance of the Bay Collective - an open project by Vietnamese-Danish pianist Tri Minh and Danish singer - songwriter Nay Ruby, who will share the stage with top Vietnamese singer Diva Thanh Lam and the multi award winner Michael Moller from Denmark, alongside other Vietnamese artists.
Meanwhile, Janice, a Swedish singer and musician will take the stage for the opening performance in Ho Chi Minh City on November 18.
Admission to the concerts will be free of charge.
