The 15th beauty contest is scheduled to take place in Thailand from February 25 to March 9, expected to attract candidates from 28 countries and territories. 

Singer Huong Giang Idol

At a meeting with reporters on January 9, Huong Giang said that one month ago, a friend of hers living in Thailand helped her to register for the contest. After that, the organising board informed that she was chosen to take part in the event from among the many other Vietnamese people who had also registered.

Her image has been posted on the Fanpage of the contest.

According to the singer, to date, Vietnam has never sent a representative to participate in the event. So, once approved, she will be the first to represent the country for the contest.

“Now, I am still waiting for the decision from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to know exactly whether I will be allowed to attend the pageant or not. I do not want to appear at such an international event without the official permission,” Huong Giang added.

If receiving the approval, she will spend the time practising catwalk and communication skills.
