According to the schedule, French writer-director Anne Fontaine and French actor Raphael Personnaz will take part in a film screening of the movie Boléro, which will be the opening event of the festival.

In addition, Korean director Kim Jee-woon, who is famous for movies “A Tale of Two Sisters” and “The Good, the Bad, the Weird”, will join the event in the role of a special guest. He will join with Korean producer Jaewon Choi, who will serve as a consultant for HIFF 2024, whilst also attending exchange activities and seminars during the function.

Other famous stars such as Japanese director Kore-eda Hirokazu and Vietnamese American television and film editor Tom Cross will also appear at the film festival.

Furthermore, the event will also draw the participation of other big names, such as Kim Dong-ho, founder and former chairman of the Busan International Film Festival; Jérémy Segay, Southeast Asia Audiovisual Attaché at the French Embassy in Vietnam; and Jay Choi, former local production head at Warner Bros Korea.

HIFF 2024 will serve as a bridge to connect filmmakers, actors, and audiences both at home and abroad as they enjoy exchanges and seek co-operation opportunities.

It is also expected to be a chance to introduce high-quality and creative local pictures, affirming the position and prestige of Vietnamese cinema in general and Ho Chi Minh City on the map of world cinema.
