Local rowers bask in glory at Asian Cup

The national women’s rowing team has clinched five gold, three silver and four bronze medals at the 2012 Asia Rowing Cup in Singapore.
It stole the show with Pham Thi Thao winning three golds and one bronze and Nguyen Thi Hai grabbing two gold medals. Both are going to compete in the Summer Olympics in London next month.
The champion titles went to the women's coxless four, double scull, and double scull light-weight events.
These achievements marked a breakthrough in Vietnam’s rowing development.
