Indonesia replaces Vietnam as ASIAD 18 host

The Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) on September 19 selected Indonesia as a host country of the next Asian Games in 2019 (ASIAD 18) in lieu of Vietnam.

At a meeting in Incheon, the Republic of Korea, OCT President Sheikh Ahmad Al Fahad Al Sabah said the executive committee approved the organization of the upcoming Asian Games in Indonesia’s capital city of Jakarta.
In March 2014, Vietnam withdrew from ASIAD 18 host, citing limited experience in organizing such big sports event as the reason.
