Vietnam enters SEA Games table tennis quarter-final
Vietnam table tennis stars Tuan Quynh and Anh Vu on June 1 cruised to a 3-1 victory over their Malaysian rivals in the men’s double event at the 28th Southeast Asian (SEA) Games ongoing in Singapore.
The dynamic duo playing with great poise defeated Muhamad and Ibrahim of Malaysia in four successive matches with scores of 12-10, 8-11, 11-6 and 11-4, securing a berth in the quarter-finals in the men’s double category.
In the women’s double event, Nguyen Thi Nga and Vu Thi Ha handily defeated a Lao team with scores of 3-0. However, My Trang and Tuong Giang lost 0-3 to their Thai rivals.
Later today, Tuan Quynh and Anh Vu will meet Sok Long Lim and Saravey Nay of Cambodia while Nguyen Thi Nga and Vu Thi Ha will face off with Komwong and Sawetabut of Thailand.
