Many Vietnamese football fans queued up early this morning, November 30, to receive tickets for the semi-final match against the Philippines at the on-going AFF Suzuki Cup.

The people waited in lines at the headquarters of Vietnam Football Federation near My Dinh National Stadium in Hanoi.

This is the final stage of the fierce race to hunt for the tickets over the past two days.

Do Duy Toan from the central province of Nghe An said that he had to spend much time on booking two pairs of tickets online. Right after being confirmed for the successful booking at the late evening of November 28, he came to Hanoi to wait for the tickets to be delivered.

Some people even had to be off work to get their tickets, but they still felt happy as they were much luckier than thousands of others who failed to secure tickets.

Police were present to ensure the security during the ticket distribution.

Meanwhile, dozens of people waited around the VFF office area to entice ticket owners to re-sell their tickets at much higher prices. However, most of the people turned down the offer.

The tickets were sold online at 10 am on November 28. However, after just a few minutes, the website crashed, and it was announced that all tickets have been sold out. Many fans found it hard to accept that 25,000 tickets could be sold so quickly, especially when many people couldn't even access the site.

After that, hundreds of Vietnamese fans gathered at the VFF to complain about the sale of tickets for the AFF Cup home leg semi-final against the Philippines.
