Quang Hai to be absent from clash against Thailand for injury
Vietnamese U22 captain midfielder Nguyen Quang Hai has suffered a leg injury and will not play against Thailand at the on-going SEA Games 30.
Quang Hai is now staying at a hospital in the Philippines capital Manila for the treatment, and has been ruled out of the Thailand clash tomorrow, December 5.
Doctors have not yet given a recovery date.
This was shocking news for coach Park Hang Seo and Vietnamese fans as Quang Hai is seen as a key player in the squad.
Earlier, Nguyen Quang Hai won the vote for the best goal at Asian Cup 2019. He was named as the Most Valuable Player at the ASEAN Football Federation Championship that ended last month, where Vietnam was crowned champions.
He was also honoured among Hanoi’s ten outstanding youth in 2018.
Quang Hai collided with a Singaporean defender in their clash on Tuesday. Hai was taken off in the 20th minute with the injury.
