Tens of thousands of people have been coming to General Vo Nguyen Giap’s private residence in Hanoi to pay tribute to the hero.

The  house at No. 30 Hoang Dieu Street was opened to the public from 14:30 on October 6 to accommodate visitors.

Well-wishers carrying bunches of yellow flowers and packets of incense queued for hours to enter the house.

The opening time from October 7-11 is 8:00-11:30 and 14:00-18:00. However, people who come to pay tribute are asked not to bring offerings.

Many even went to the house two hours before the opening time to queue for the tribute.

People cannot hold their tears

At midnight on October 6, many people from different localities nationwide flocked to General Vo Nguyen Giap’s house to pay respects.
