Many motorbike drivers continue to use car lanes on the Thang Long Avenue regardless of dangers.

The 30-km Thang Long Avenue which was called Lang-Hoa Lac Highway connects Hanoi’s city centre and Ho Chi Minh Road.

Despite signs, lots of motorbike drivers still run into lanes for cars only, while lanes for motorbikes are not crowded at all.

Many motorbikes travel at very high speeds on the car lane.

Cars are allowed to travel at 80-100km per hour on Thang Long Avenue, so, it is very dangerous for motorbikes to go into the lane.

Many people even use their mobile phone while driving their motorbike.

Nguyen Minh Duc who goes through Thang Long Avenue every day said that he often sees many people drive their motorbikes in the car lane at very high speed. This has caused fatal accidents.

Police have dealt with many violators, but when they are absent, violations are common.
