Hanoi- Non-Verbal Performance “WITHOUT SIGNAL!”

Youth Theater Vietnam, 11 Ngo Thi Nham, Hai Ba Trung District
Directed by Mr Shuji Onodera who founded “Company Derashinera” on 2006. Their performances were based on the techniques of mime, which were much more like theatrical work than dance. The mime movement of their dance helped audiences “see” the invisible, and attracting audiences by all their own styles. The group performed in Vietnam for the first time in 2016.
In September 2017, Onodera created “WITHOUT SIGNAL!” after taking part in a few dance workshops with some Vietnamese artists. The piece was premiered at Kanagawa Art Theater in Yokohama, Japan by 4 Japanese and 4 Vietnamese performers.
The piece was inspired by the scenes on the streets of Vietnam. During his work trips to Vietnam, Onodera was impressed by the way cars, motorbikes and pedestrians all shared the crowded roads. At first sight he thought they were on some kind of autopilot, but after taking a closer look, he felt like everyone seemed to have an underlying agreement with each other on the space between them so that they can all move forward.
Free tickets will be distributed at the Japan Foundation Center for Cultural Exchange in Vietnam, 27 Quang Trung Street, Hoan Kiem District.

HCMC – Concert “Mozart’s Symphony No. 41″

Featuring the Symphony no.41 by the genius W.A.Mozart. This is one of the three most famous symphonies by Mozart (no.39, 40 & 41), and is considered one of the most well-known symphonies in world music history.
Part I of the concert night will include the Overturw and excerpts from the famous musical Der Freischütz by the great German composer Carl Maria von Weber. Several aria from famous musicals by J.Strauss, G.Verdi, J.Offenbach will be performed. See the detailed program here.
Notable opera singers of Vietnam will join the choir in this concert: Đào Mác, Phạm Trang, Phạm Duyên Huyền, NSƯT Trần Hồng Vy… The concert director is the talented, experienced conductor – Meritorious Artist Trần Vương Thạch. He is currently the director of HCMC Ballet Symphony Orchestra and Opera.

An international fine arts exchange program organized by the University of Industrial Fine Art in Hanoi since 2016.
Each program often consists of two parts:
– AN ART EXHIBITION showcases finished artworks at the university’s exhibition hall
– WORKSHOPS where painters create live paintings in front of students and audiences. The paintings will then be showcased at another exhibition at the university.

Vietnam University of Fine Arts, 42 Yet Kieu Street
A collaborative project between Minerva Art Academy in the Netherlands and Vietnam University of Fine Arts. It is among the activities to celebrate 45 years of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and the Netherlands. The theme “Dialogues” creates an opportunity for the students from both countries to inspire each other through different approaches to art from different perspectives.
During the project, students from the two universities discussed topics related to culture, history, environment and other subjects in society in the two countries. Through creating a dialogues between the two countries, they aimed to highlight these topics and generate new ways of thinking through research and conversations based on artworks.
The final exhibition is an outcome of the dialogues and collaborations between students from both universities.

A solo exhibition “PRAXIS” by artist Ilza Burchett from Australia and Hanoi, Vietnam.
Presenting 16 small format abstract paintings made in the years 2008/2009 in Sydney, Australia and 2012/2013 in Hanoi, Vietnam.
About the artist: Ilza Burchett is a Bulgarian – Australian artist, who lives in Hanoi, Vietnam since 2012. Before that Ilza lived and worked as an artist in Sydney, Australia and exhibited her works in Bulgaria; Australia, Republic of Serbia, Hong Kong and Shanghai, PR China. Ilza has completed numerous public, corporate and private commissions in Bulgaria, Australia and Asia. Her work is in corporate and public collections in Bulgaria, Australia, Malaysia, Hong Kong and in private collections in Australia; Bulgaria; PR China; USA; UK; Brazil; Cuba; France; Sweden; Vietnam.
