Luckily no passengers was on board. This is one in a series of similar recent incidents. On August 28, ship named Tung Trang QN2477 departed from Bai Chay port at 12:45pm and was overturned by a cyclone at 2.45pm the same day.

When this accident occurred, there were 20 passengers on board, including 12 foreigners, 1 tour guide and 7 crew members. All of the passengers were rescued by nearby ships and brought to local hotels where they were given necessary treatment.

That case is still under investigation.

In 2011, another tourist boat also capsized on Halong Bay, killing 12 passengers, foreign passengers from Australia, Britain and the US.
