VCCI’s Standing Vice President Hoang Van Dung stressed that Vietnam ’s top concern is how to be proactive in coping with natural disaster risks and mitigating their consequences at a time when climate change is challenging the globe.

Business’s capacity to deal with natural calamity risks is important to the whole economy, said Kim Ngoc Bao Ninh, chief representative of the Asian Foundation in Vietnam , which co-organised the event together with the US Agency for International Development (USAIDS).

The seminar, therefore, offered participants, who are representatives from businesses nationwide, state administration agencies and experts, to discuss and devise common actions to be taken in the time to come.

Lessons learnt from private-public partnerships in natural disaster risks management at small and medium-size enterprises and businesses’ fulfillment of social responsibilities were shared at the seminar.

Outcomes of the seminar will be sent to relevant agencies to contribute to policies and programmes relating to the issue.
