The contest aims to introduce eco and agri destinations in the city as well as exploit the potential and advantages of its agriculture and river landscapes, promoting eco-tourism in combination with traditional agriculture production.

It is also expected to encourage tourism enterprises to connect their programs to eco and agri sites to create unique destinations of rural culture, adding to the diversity of the city’s tourism, increasing job opportunities for local people, and attracting more tourists.

The contest is open to all enterprises in the tourism industry operating in Ho Chi Minh City, students from tourism training schools, and individuals, groups, and organizations interested in travel.

They are required to submit tour programs that connect eco and agri destinations with both traditional cultivation and high-tech agriculture, such as ecological gardens, flower villages, and traditional and trade villages, in districts with potential in ecological tourism development, like Thu Duc, Cu Chi, Hoc Mon, Binh Chanh, Nha Be, Can Gio, and Districts 9 and 12. The duration of the program must be at least one day.

Prizes range from VND3 million ($130) to VND20 million ($850). Winning programs will be supported by the department to introduce and market new products offered by travel operators for both domestic and international visitors to the city.

Applications can be submitted to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, 140 Nguyen Dinh Chieu, District 3, until June 30.
