Around 3,800 Grade 9 students in Hanoi’s outlying district of Ba Vi have returned to school from today, November 8, after a halt of more than two months due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Ba Vi is the only district in Hanoi that has allowed students to return to school. They are students in 29 secondary schools. Online studying has remained in other districts of the city.

At around 6:15 this morning, authorities of Dong Quang Commune helped provide temperature checks for 59 students in two classes of Grade 9 at Dong Quang Secondary School who were required to ensure safety distancing of at least two metres.

Pham Xuan Tien, deputy director of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training checked the operation of schools in Ba Vi District on November 8.

Students have to ensure Covid-19 prevention regulations

The school headmaster Nguyen Thanh Hung said that the students were divided into two classes. One studied on the first floor and the other on the second. They only study in the morning or the afternoon to ensure Covid-19 protocols.

Hung added that the school had prepared measures to deal with suspected Covid-19 cases. Sterlisation has also been conducted at the school.

A student, Nguyen Ba Hai Dang from Grade 9A expressed his joy to meet his teachers and friends again after the long stay at home.
