Deputy PM conducts sudden price check at Nghe An supermarket

Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue made a sudden visit a market and supermarket in the northern central province of Nghe An a day before Tet.

Hue came to Vinh Market and Big C Supermarket in Vinh City in Nghe An Province on January 25, just one day before the Tet holiday.

Vinh is among the biggest markets in Vinh City with 3,200 traders.

Hue talked to traders and asked about their businesses.

The government official expressed his concern about the prices of essential goods over Tet, particularly pork.

According to the market management board, the market will be open again on January 29.

Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue asked the ministries of industry and trade and agriculture and rual development to co-operate with firms to import some 100,000 tonnes of pork until the end of the first quarter of 2020.

He also requested to tighten control over prices during Tet, especially essential products such as pork.
