It is easy to see rubbish thrown onto many streets in Hanoi and bridges, worsening the city’s pollution.

Rubbish and construction debris are often dumped on Tran Khat Chan Street in Hai Ba Trung District, causing a bad odour.

Despite banning signs, people blatantly drop litter on Thang Long Avenue, turning the road into a dumping site hundreds of metres long.

Nguyen Thi Tuyen who lives near Thang Long Avenue said that the pollution worsens when it is rainy.

According to regulations, rubbish collections on Nguyen Luong Bang Street in Dong Da District are from 5-9 pm daily. However, waste piles up on the street from 11 am.

The same situation is reported on Tay Son Street.
