Under the plea deal, Minh will be sentenced in 18 months in state prison and must register as a sex offender for life. The sentence will be announced by Orange County Superior Court in December this year.

Earlier, the Orange County news website cited state prosecutors as saying that in March this year, Minh Beo travelled from Vietnam to visit Orange County and Atlanta. On March 20, he met a group of dancers at a radio station talent show in Huntington Beach.

When a 16 year-old boy arrived for an audition three days later, Minh had oral sex with him. The boy later reported the incident to local police who launched an investigation.

Minh Beo also attempted to set up a meeting with an undercover officer who posed as a minor to approach him. He is accused of intending to commit a sexual assault at the meeting and was subsequently arrested.
