National women’s football team leave for 2023 World Cup

The Vietnamese national women’s football team departed from Hanoi on Wednesday to participate in the 2023 FIFA World Cup in New Zealand.



Head coach Mai Duc Chung and the Vietnamese national women’s football team depart Hanoi to participate in the 2023 FIFA World Cup in New Zealand on July 5.

The flight carrying the team is scheduled to arrive in New Zealand at 9 am on July 6. The team will stay at the Rydges Hotel in Auckland City, which is only a 10-minute drive to New Zealand’s National Stadium Eden Park.



Head coach Mai Duc Chung and his players will then have two weeks of training before the event. During that time they will have two friendly matches against New Zealand on July 10 and Spain on July 14.

Earlier on July 4, PM Pham Minh Chinh visited the team to send his gifts and best wishes before their departure.

At the FIFA Women’s World Cup, Vietnam have been named in Group E and will face the United States on July 22, Portugal on July 27, and the Netherlands on August 1.
