Nguyen Duc Chung gave awards to nine outstanding citizens on October 10
Addressing a ceremony held this morning, October 10, to honour the nine outstanding people who made great contributions to the development of the capital, Hanoi's chairman Nguyen Duc Chung recalled the city's tradition to appreciate and respect hard-working and talented people.
"These people have not only contributed a lot to our city but also inspired us through their work and efforts," Chung said. "
Other outstanding citizens this year included Nguyen Trong Vinh – head of Nguyen Sieu School’s board of directors, Nguyen Van Hung – head of a special patrol in Khuong Mai Ward, Thanh Xuan District, and Do Thuy Ha from the Vietnam Blind Association’s branch in Dong Da District.
The title has been bestowed upon 62 locals for their services to the city since 2010.
