An artisan in Hanoi's Bat Trang Ceramic Village is producing thousands of models of the World Cup trophy ahead of the 2022 World Cup.

Vuong Hong Nhat, owner of the Nhat Nga Ceramic Workshop, is busy completing the last products to sell to football fans as the World Cup's kick-off nears.

According to the 62-year-old artisan, he began producing some model trophies in the 2014 World Cup due to his big love for football. After he received many orders from customers, he started expanding production.

The replicas are meticulously moulded and painted by the artisan. They are made of plaster and weigh between 0.7 and 1.2 kg.

"It takes us between three to five days to complete these trophies," Nhat said. "We're producing around 5,000 trophies this year, roughly 1.5 times higher compared to the previous World Cup four years ago. We're working hard to meet customers’ demand."

The artisan is selling his World Cup trophies at VND70,000 each at his workshop.

The 2022 FIFA World Cup is scheduled to begin on November 20 at the Al Bayt Stadium when hosts Qatar take on Ecuador in Group A.
