The Ministry of Transport has decided to withdraw the business license of Trai Thien Air Cargo due to its failure to ensure operations.

The decision follows in the footsteps of the ministry’s revoking of bankrupt air carrier Indochina Airlines license for the same reason.

According to the Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam (CAAV), despite being licensed in 2008, Trai Thien Air Cargo failed to launch any services within the 12 months of receiving its business license.

The CAAV offered support to the carrier to conduct domestic cargo flights, but the company failed to provide any flights to date. Trai Thien is currently also being sued by staff members for unpaid salaries.

Trai Thien Air Cargo, set up in June 2008, had total registered capital of VND500 billion (USD23.8 million), it claimed to specialise in offering domestic air cargo transportation services.

Vietnam currently has Vietnam Airlines, Jetstar Pacific, Air Mekong, Vasco and VietJetAir offering commercial flights.
