Flood tide in HCM City forecast to hit record, again
The flood tide in Ho Chi Minh City is forecast to reach 1.68m on
December 5 and 6, a record level in the past six decades.
The municipal Steering Committee for Flood and Storm Prevention and Control has asked the Steering Centre of the Urban Flood Control Programme, the HCM City Urban Water Drainage Company, the Department of Transport, and the city’s Border Guard Command to ready their forces to timely deal with the inundation.
Earlier, a flood tide in mid-October also hit 1.68m, submerging a number of roads under 0.5m of water.

The National Centre for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said the tide will rise to 1.64m on December 4 and inundate many areas in the city, particularly District 12, Thu Duc, Binh Thanh, Go Vap, Cu Chi and Hoc Mon districts.
