Central provinces warned of flash floods and landslides as storm weakens
As Storm Nakri has weakened, heavy rains and landslides are forecasted in some southern central provinces.
Due to the depression, provinces from Thua Thien-Hue to Binh Thuan and the Central Highlands will have heavy rains. The expected rainfall is around 50-150mm in 24 hours.
As a result, warnings about flooding and landslides have been issued in Binh Dinh, Khanh Hoa and Phu Yen provinces. From 12 pm to 3 pm on November 10, the rainfall in Song Hinh Town, Phu Yen Province, was 44.6mm, the rainfall in Can Hau Reservoir, Binh Dinh Province, was 43.8mm and 41mm in Dai Lanh, Khanh Hoa Province.
Areas that are most vulnerable to flash floods are An Lao, Hoai An, Vinh Thanh, Tay Son, Van Canh, Quy Nhon in Binh Dinh Province. Son Hoa, Dong Xuan, Tuy An, Tuy Hoa in Phu Yen Province and Van Ninh, Ninh Hoa, Khanh Vinh, Khanh Son and Nha Trang in Khanh Hoa Province will also have flash floods.
Some other districts that are moderately vulnerable to flash floods are Hoai Nhon, Phu My, Phu Cat, Tuy Phuoc in Binh Dinh; Dong Hoa, Phu Hoa in Phu Yen and Dien Khanh, Cam Lam, Cam Ranh in Khanh Hoa.
