17 tigers illegally kept in Nghe An
Authorities in Nghe An Province have found 17 tigers being kept in a private home.
All 17 tigers are adults, some weigh about 200kg.
On August 1, Nghe An police also detained two men, 37-year-old Tran Trung Hieu and 54-year-old Nguyen Van Lai when they were selling seven tiger cubs. The men tried to run away but failed.
The cubs were later transferred to Pu Mat National Park in Con Cuong District. It is thought that the tigers may be raised to make tiger bone glue.
