Many rare animals rescued in HCM City have been handed over to Dong Nai Culture and Nature Reserve in the southern province of Dong Nai.

According to the HCM City Forest Protection Department, the animals include 11 species, including yellow-headed temple turtles, giant Asian pond turtles, reticulated pythons, northern pig-tailed macaques and Sunda pangolins.

After being temporarily cared for at the Cu Chi Wildlife Rescue Station in HCM City, the animals were transferred to Dong Nai Culture and Nature Reserve. Those in stable health will be released into the wild.

HCM City Forest Protection Department have called on the public not to keep wild animals at home. They should contact the agency for support.

Dozens of wild animals rescued in HCM City were also transferred to the Dong Nai Culture and Nature Reserve in August last year. They included white-bellied sea eagles, long-tailed macaques, Burmese pythons and civets.
