Golden flowers cover Hanoi streets
The streets around Hanoi’s West Lake are currently covered by the yellow colour of Cassia fistula flowers.
This year, due to the prolonged cold weather, the tree has bloomed later than usual.
Many people flocked to the West Lake area to take photos with the flower.
Each bunch is 20-40 cm long.
The flower is in season for around three months.
Nguyen Quoc Viet from Dong Da District and his wife sometimes come to the West Lake to capture the images of the Cassia fistula.
Along with giant crape-myrtle and phoenix flower, the Cassia fistula is very much associated with the image of Hanoi.
