Many peach trees in Nhat Tan Ward in Tay Ho District have already started blossoming.

The northern region of Vietnam has been forecasted to face more cold fronts from now until Tet, offering favourable conditions for peach trees to bloom.

Nhat Tan peach tree growers have diversified their varieties, offering more alternatives since 2000 to the deep red flower. 

Customers come to Nhat Tan to buy peach blossoms now or order the flowers in advance for Tet. 

Rapid urbanisation has curbed Nhat Tan’s peach tree growing area. Local residents even have to rent land in other areas for cultivation.

Early peach blossoms are being sold in Quang An Market in Tay Ho District and some streets in Hanoi for the first day and the 23rd day (Kitchen Gods' Day ) of the 12th lunar month. They are sold at VND400-500,000 (USD16.87-21.09) each.
