Early Hanoi peach blossoms signal Tet nears
Many peach trees in Nhat Tan flower village in Hanoi’s Tay Ho District have bloomed although the Tet Lunar New Year festival is still a month away.
Many people are flocking to Nhat Tan to book peach trees in advance for Tet.
Peach branches are sold at between VND200,000-3000,000 (USD8-12) each. They are often bought early to be displayed on the first day and the 15th day of the 12th lunar month.
According to a peach grower in Nhat Tan, the current weather is quite favourable for peach trees to bloom in time for Tet.
Lots of young people are coming to Nhat Tan to capture stunning moments with early peach blossoms.
Peach branches are being sold at Quang An Flower Market in Tay Ho District. These kinds of peaches are priced at around VND150,000 each.
Last month, people in Nhat Tan had to trim their peach trees to prepare for Tet. This is one of the most important stages, as it decides when they bloom.
