The northern region is forecasted to experience the first heat wave of this year on March 30.

According to the National Centre for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, temperatures will rise to over 30 degrees Celsius from March 30.

The heat wave is forecasted to spread next week with higher temperatures coming between April 2-4.

On March 27 and 28, it will still be cloudy in the early morning and sunny in the afternoon. There will be rain at times in some areas on March 28.

The centre warned that the changing weather may affect people's health, especially children, the elderly, and those with respiratory problems.

The centre also forecasted that the northern region will see an earlier and hotter summer this year with the number of hot days higher and more intense than the average of previous years.

The peak of the summer would be in May and June in the northwest, while northeastern localities would see temperature highs between June and July.

Meanwhile, droughts would continue to ravage the central and central highlands regions between April and July.

The southern region would still face prolonged hot fronts between April and May. Southern localities are predicted to see lower average total rainfall in April and May than in previous years.
